ABOUT JOSIPDOL

I`m living in a small town called Josipdol. It`s very nice and peaceful. Josipdol for it self is not so big, but there are lots of surrounding villages and hamlets. It also has a rich history. On the hill Viničica in Josipdol are the remains of ancient Illyrian tribes called Japodi. Even assumes that the hill Vinicica was the capital called Metulum which the Roman emperor Octavian barely won.

Near Josipdol there is a place named Modruš. Modruš is a very important part of Croatian history. In fact there is an old fort Modruš which in its time served as a defense against the Turks. It was built by members of the very famous noble family Frankopan. Modruš was at that time the main link between the coast and the mainland because it is between the mountains Velika Kapela and Mala Kapela. The fort was destroyed by the Turks around in 1493. Remains of ancient ruins can be visited today, and around ruins is the village which is still inhabited.

Because everything is based only on the history of the town, and today there is practically nothing except store houses a hotel and several cafes.There are only old people left because young people can`t find a job here so they go to bigger cities and leave their homes behind.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF MOBILE PHONES

Nowdays almost everyone has a mobile phone adn can`t live without it.Rare are those who dont have one because everyone needs it for job school and so on. Should we waive the mobile phones? Would we be able to live and work without them?

There are serval adventages to using mobile phones. Firstly, it is a multifunctional device. We can use it in many ways. For example the main function is calling, but also we can go on the internet, we can send SMS, newer mobile phones even have some functions like GPS, write e-mails. Actualy newer phones have the caractersitics and possibilities of computers.

However, there are some arguments against using mobile phones. Firstly mobile phones radiate and this radiation can caus many health problems like infertility or even cancer . Of course that can be prevented by puting avay mobile phones when we dont use them. There are many more health problems that can cause cell phones. But the biggest problem of mobilephones is that they occupy peoples attention so that people only stear on their mobile phones instead to socialize with other people or to spend time with their loved once, and this is mostly the problem with younger people.

In conclusion, mobile phones are a good and a bad invention at the same time. Good for its usefulness and bad for the consequences of radiation. I think that people couldnt live without mo0bile phones. I couldn`t either, because I must use it when I go to school  to comunicate with my parents, and I am using many apps that make my everyday life easier.

MY FAVOURITE GADGET

When I think about gadgets i can certainly tell you thath I can´t live without them.I´m useing them every day. But of course I have a favourite one, its my mobile phone. I don´t have a new fashoned android phone. Instead of that I have an 5 year old NOKIA 5230.

Seems old and bulky ha? And it has not many possibilities. For example I can´t download apps, but for me its the best. Now you are propably asking yourself IS THIS GUY NUTS?! Hmm  maybe I am a little bit, but this mobile phone is "My precious" 

Yeah I´m crazy. But this mobile phone is awesome. It was overruned by a car a few times, it fell into water,milk and juice and many more things that I don´t remember but my phone is stil working. Unfortunately now the motherboard has a malfunction and it is too expensive to get it fixed so my parents want me to buy another. Well I only hope that the new phone will last as the last one.
